About_Portrait2.jpg

Hey there, I’m Jessica!

I compare books to the film adaptations and give you my honest opinion on any changes that were made.

I grew up in El Paso, Texas and currently live in the Dallas area with my husband and two children. I earned a B.A. in Communications with a concentration in Electronic Media from the University of Texas at El Paso.

I had previously considered starting a YouTube channel, but I didn’t have a subject I really wanted to create content for on a regular basis.

I have always enjoyed reading, and in 2020 a small group of my family and friends decided to start a book club. The first book we read was Little Fires Everywhere, which happened to coincide with the TV series release on Hulu. I found myself comparing the book to the series, noting the changes that were made and discussing them with my book club. This gave me the idea to start Bookshelf to Big Screen.

This is Bookshelf to Big Screen

About_studio-3.jpg

I started Bookshelf to Big Screen in June of 2020 with the goal of creating helpful reviews of adaptations.

Since starting my channel, I’ve been working on becoming a more effective writer, story teller, and video editor.

My primary purpose for creating Bookshelf to Big Screen was to compare film adaptations to the source material and share my findings with you. My hope is that you find my reviews interesting and insightful and that you come away knowing a little more than you did before watching.

Thank you for watching my videos, and an even bigger thank you if you have already subscribed to my channel! I’m having fun doing something I really enjoy, and I’m glad to have you along for the ride.
